About Our Richmond Open Studios
$50 REGISTRATION ENDS MAY 15!
This is only our 2nd year organizing this event -and we still have a lot to learn- but the inspiration behind this is that for a long time we’ve felt that as Richmond artists we need to have our own Open Studios.
No Studio? We got you!
If you work out of your kitchen or garage, or if your studio cannot welcome visitors, you’ll be able to show and sell your work at one of our partner venues. Register a table to show and sell without having to pay commission or additional fees and get postcards, a website profile and a place on our map, and an individual social media mention, as part of our promotion of this event. $40 covers one day: Saturday, August 17, between 11 and 5 pm. Why Should You Register Your Studio?
We held a smaller version last year and we learned that we could get a foot traffic increase of 30% simply by advertising to art lovers living in West Contra Costa. We’re talking about people who are not in our mailing lists. People who don’t want to drive far to see and buy art. You will also get more individual attention, and probably more press! For $40, you can register your studio for Aug 17, 18, or both days.
What You Get
In addition to postcards, a ROS 2024 website profile and a place on the map we will distribute all over the county, your art will get shown and your name mentioned in our social media as part of the promotion. Take a look at our November 2023 Instagram posts to see what that looks like. Register your studio to take advantage of all of this and more. Artists in shared studios will need to complete separate registrations.
ROS 2024 Exhibit At The Richmond Art Center
Participating VAR members will show one piece in the Richmond Art Center’s West Gallery from July 3 to August 17, with an opening reception on July 3, the date of their summer shows. Other than than the 30% commission the RAC charges for work sold, no additional fees will apply. RAC and VAR will be promoting this show on our website, social media and postcards. More details here.
Help VAR Make History!
We need help not just on the day of Open Studios but up to two months before. We have a show to hang at the RAC and we have to promote VAR so it can be a success.
