On the last Tuesday of March (March 31), VAR will go to the City Council to make its case for funding for Richmond Open Studios. We will be asking the City to help us with a third of the cost of this event. These funds would help to pay the 6-8 artists who work hard to organize it. Please come and support your visual artist organization! Without the City’s support, Richmond Open Studios won’t be able to survive another year (because we apply to 5-6 grants per year but those funds are not a given). You can attend in person, send in a public comment in support of VAR, or write to your council member to support it. More details in our next newsletter.
